Emerged :

The 3 nights conference was truly awesome! The presence of God was so tangible, hearts were so opened to the Lord and people are so receptive towards the preaching of the word. I really had a refreshing moment praising and worshipping the Lord. I personally felt that the 2 morning sessions at church are even more powerful. God's presence was soo thick in the service! The P&W is really simple as they only use a keyboard and an acoustic guitar. I was in awe looking at how with just a simple set up could sound so wonderful. This truly proves that it is not the instrument, but the heart and hunger of the people that brought the presence of God into the service.

Ps. Kong's message about having God stepped into our boat really challenged me to spend more time with God, to always position myself in a way that I'll be more sensitive to the voice of the Holy Spirit. To learn to hear the voice of faith instead of the voice of criticism, doubt, selfishness and limitation.

For the second session, God re-affirm me His love and cares for me. As Ps.Kong is telling us how his son reaches out to him, I can picture myself reaching out to God, having that unshakable faith that im in His hands and that nothing could harm me. That love really moved me to tears. Calling God "daddy" really makes me feels like im a little kid, reaching out to a very personal and loving father.

All throughout the 3 days conference, Ps. Kong preached about being relevant in the society, penetrating into the 7 pillars of the society, namely: Religion, Family, Business, Education, Government, Arts/Culture and Media. Many christians are so caught up in their religious act of what can do and what cannot do until they lost touch of the society. People of the world could not understand or relate to christianity as it seems so outdated, out of touch and irrelevant. Ps. Kong used Daniel, Esther, Moses, Jesus as an illustration of the people that penetrate into the society of the world instead of shunning it.

Hmm.. maybe I should write down the points and the sermon notes here... yeah! think i'll do that in my next post..hehe! Alright! time to grab my lunch..

Fourplay

Fourplay is Bob James (keyboard), Nathan East (bass), Larry Carlton (guitar) and Harvey Mason (drums), whose recordings combine elements of R&B, pop, rock, blues, classical and jazz. I'm estatic when a friend of mine said he wants to bless me a ticket to see them live at Dewan Filharmonik KLCC.

I was introduced to jazz by some of my CF (Christian Fellowship) friends back in college days. But somehow I find the type of jazz they introduced me to doesn't really appeal to me. Jazz to me is like an antidote for insomnia..haha! Well.. all that changed when one fateful day my neighbour (back in the days where I was staying at Tmn. Melati PT10219 and a group of my buddies stayed at PT10218) wow.. I even remember the number plate..LOL!

Anyway.. this friend of mine just introduced me to some bands and share me some of his mp3 collections. When I  heard the jazz piece by Fourplay and Benoit and Freeman, I was in love with their music till now. There will be days where I'll just blast their songs, close my eyes and imagine myself playing it..hahaha!

Back to the Fourplay experience at Filharmonik, there was never a dull moment for the audience that is present there. We all waited till around 8.45pm before the band walks in one by and take a bow. Then they started off playing Galaxia and Chant. Man! I was being blown away seeing how well the drummer control his strokes and the loudness of each beat on the drums.

Right after that, Nathan East (bassist)  walks to the mic and serenade us with his vocals and his bass skills. Just him alone and his bass, I was just so amazed at his skills and how he is able to create such nice melody with just his voice and the bass.

The band did not only played extremely well, but they are also very good at entertaining the crowd. There was a part where they stop playing and froze at their position...move a bit and just when I thought they would start playing again, they froze again.. they were frozen in their position for almost 10 seconds before they continue on the song that they are playing...MAN! how did they know when to come in together? (A friend of mine said..its the chemistry and "click" of playing together for a long time) I would think that they communicate spirit to spirit..hahaha!

The songs for the night was Galaxia, chant, Blues 4Orce, Turnabout, Fields of Gold, 101 Eastbound, journey, Tally Ho, Bali Run (my fav.), Smiles and Westchester.
